As human beings we typically move towards whatever we value. So the question becomes, how much do we value God? While it is true that we must value the people and things in our lives, we must value God more. When we do, and move towards Him, He is faithful to reveal to us what is best for us in every area of our lives.

A heart that "devises wicked plans" is a heart that has chosen to do whatever it wants, independent of and ungoverned by God's directions for successful living. It's a "mindset," a way of thinking, that eventually manifests destructively. That's why it's so important to consider what we visualize, conceptualize, imagine and think about in our minds. And why we should want to bring our thoughts under the control and influence of God's Word.

Have we ever allowed our words or actions to negatively affect someone who is impressionable, or easily influenced by what we say or do? Whenever that's the case, the Bible says that those actions can "murder" the identity, dream, reputation or purity of another. Christians should, instead, want to be instruments of light, healing and truth among the people in their lives.

In order to know what God loves it's important to understand what He detests. In this teaching we'll learn that what we fix our eyes upon matters to God; that pride is a very dangerous mindset to have; and that lying opens the door to a host of long term problems. God prefers that we be truthful, walk in humility and keep our eyes fixed on Him so that we'll always receive His help and blessing in our lives.
